Vacancies

 1 Full Time Temporary Position – Up to 6 Months 

Education

Completion of Grade 12

Community college diploma or university degree in a related field is desirable

Minimum of 1 year of related experience in a social services setting

  • Community resources
  • Issues affecting homeless persons, families and women fleeing abuse
  • Strong knowledge of Ottawa’s shelter system and supporting agencies
  • Social services agencies and programs
  • City of Ottawa policies and procedures, departmental policies and procedures
  • Case management process for shelters
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers
  • Training on HIFIS is desirable

  • Manage potentially volatile situations/crisis intervention

  • Work within a 24-hour operation
  • Physical capacity to lift, climb, and perform other physical tasks
