Education
- Completion of 1 year post secondary certificate in occupational health and safety.
- Minimum two (2) years of related fieldwork safety experience, requiring client service, organizational, and time management skills

- Extensive knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safey Act, Canada Labour Code Part II and their regulations.
- Workplace Safety and Insurance Act
- Regulation 1101 First Aid Requirements
- CSA Z1000 – Occupational Health and Safety Management
- Auditing processes, procedures
- Generally accepted safety policies, best practices and industry standards
- Records management practices and techniques
- Unionized environments, collective agreements
Skills
- Demonstrates tact, diplomacy and discretion, and maintains strict confidentiality
- Proficiency in researching health and safety information
- Interpret and translate legislation into common language
- Proficiency at an intermediate/advanced level of SharePoint (libraries, lists and document sets)
- Proficiency at an intermediate/advanced level in MS O365 to support the production of documents, spreadsheets, reports and presentations
- Strict attention to detail and accuracy
- Adaptable to change and reliable
